Content and marketing

What should customers know before contacting your business?

Organise your content around customer questions, explain your offer and make the next step easier instead of posting without a purpose.

The starting point

Each piece of content has a job: clarify a need, explain a solution, answer a question or help a customer take a practical step.

I believe business content starts with clarity about what we offer and whom we serve. Good design and regular publishing become more useful when visitors understand the service, know whether it suits them and see how to get in touch.

Write a message your customer understands

Start with a sentence explaining whom you help and the need you address. Instead of a general phrase such as complete digital solutions, explain a specific service: we build a store that helps you display products and organise orders. Then add the details a customer needs to assess the offer.

Review your social profile, website and contact form together. They should lead to the same understanding, so visitors do not read one promise in a post and discover a different service when they contact you.

Turn customer questions into topics

List the questions you hear before and during a project. Each one could become a post, short video or service-page paragraph. Explain in the customer’s language, with a clear example and realistic boundaries.

  • Who is this service for, and when does a business need it?
  • What do we need from the customer before starting?
  • What are the steps, and what will the customer receive?
  • What affects timing, scope and cost?

Use examples you can stand behind

When showing past work, explain the problem, your role and what was delivered, while respecting the client’s permission and data privacy. Label illustrative examples clearly so they are not mistaken for real client results.

Not every piece needs a big claim. Explaining a design decision, an operational step or a common mistake can help customers understand how you work.

Make the next step clear and review what follows

Choose an appropriate action: read more, watch a lesson or send project details. Links should lead directly to the page that continues the topic, with a simple explanation of what visitors will find.

Review the enquiries you receive, the questions that keep coming up and how well customers understand the service. Engagement tells part of the story; conversations help you see what needs clarification. Start with a publishing commitment you can maintain, then improve your message based on what you learn.
